Governor Abbott declared a state-wide disaster and is opening a drive-through testing facility in San Antonio, more to follow in Dallas and Houston. I can just see the traffic jams as every hypochondriac who coughs once, lines up for a test.
It's important to remember that the test is not for screening but for diagnosis, but the crazies will be out in force.
Pentagon Halts All Domestic Travel for Nearly 2 Months Over Coronavirus Epoch Times, Mar 14, 2020
The Department of Defense late Friday ordered service members, civilian employees, and their family members to stop traveling domestically until May 11.
The new travel restrictions goes into effect on March 16.
The reason cited was the spread of the new coronavirus, which started in China last year and has spread so widely that it has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization.
“Stop Movement for all Domestic Travel for DoD Components in Response to Coronavirus Disease 2019,” read the subject line of Pentagon memo (pdf) announcing the new guidelines.
The “continuing spread” of the new virus and the disease it causes, COVID-19, “necessitates immediate implementation” of the new restrictions, David Norquist, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, wrote in the memo.
“These restrictions are necessary to preserve force readiness, limit the continuing spread of the virus, and preserve the health and welfare of Service members, DoD civilian employees, their families, and the local communities in which we live,” Norquist wrote.

President Trump announced he tested for the coronavirus on Friday night and is awaiting results.
As the White House Coronavirus Task Force gave a press conference on Saturday, Trump told reporters that he decided to take the test in response to Friday's press conference where the president declared a state of national emergency.
"By the way, I had my temperature taken coming into the room," Trump prefaced his statement to reporters. "I also took the test last night. And I decided I should based on the press conference yesterday."

What a difference a day of insanity makes! Medina is closing the schools and the library. Parents who need to work are SOL. Unthinking ridiculous panic. There are no cases in the area. When did all the international jetsetters converge on Medina and cough corona all over the school desks? I am so damned angry! This is how things snowball, people can't go to work, businesses close, everyone has their hand out for government aid.

You're not kidding.... all of the deliberate (and follow on) panic and hysteria has a very good potential to do more to do destroy the economy, screw up gubmint spending, and reduce liberties than any other event since 9/11/2001.....
People cannot even think anymore. They don't see that closing schools where the virus isn't present will have serious unintended consequences. I am livid!
We are seeing the results of the deliberate removal of two key elements from our society... it has been a few generations now where so many people have lost: - the ability to think critically... - all reference to the frameworks of what this Republic was founded upon, and how a civil society should function within it...
As we recall Andrew Breitbart's famous quote: "Politics is downstream of culture...." I think that we are watching in amazement at just how far our culture has been degraded.....
I know that I am stunned at what I am seeing.... and it isn't leading to anything good.....
