2020 Democrat hopeful Cory Booker is confident he can beat President Trump in next year’s election. While discussing his campaign during an interview Thursday, Booker said he’s a “baller” who wants to beat the president in the race instead of removing him through impeachment.
The New Jersey senator went on to discuss what a Senate trial would be like once the House releases the articles of impeachment. He was asked about previous comments he’s made about the importance of impartial jurors after accusing the president of behaving like a dictator. Booker insisted he’s still able to be impartial.
“I can’t escape my history, I’m a baller…when I used to play football, when we went in to Notre Dame the last thing I would have wanted for Notre Dame is to be disqualified…I wanted to play them,” Booker explained. “I am looking forward to standing on a debate stage and looking down at Donald Trump…calling him out for who he is.”-- excerpt, rest at link above --
