But, she accomplished what she wanted. She will be considered a politician on a national level from now on out. No matter how bad her campaign and ideas were.
QuoteKamala Harris drops bid for 2020 Democratic nomination Washington Examiner, Dec 3, 2019
Kamala Harris has bowed out of contention for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.
Hours before Harris announced she was exiting the Democratic primary, her campaign canceled a New York City fundraiser that was expected to have a number of her wealthy bundlers in attendance. At the time, Harris's team said the cancellation was because of a "personal matter" and offered no further explanation.
In November, she closed down her entire New Hampshire campaign operations, in a bid to shift all her resources to the Iowa caucuses. Weeks earlier, Harris fired dozens of staffers from her campaign headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. By the end of the third quarter, Harris's campaign had the highest cash burn rate of any other candidate running for office, spending 122.9% of all dollars donated.
But, she accomplished what she wanted. She will be considered a politician on a national level from now on out. No matter how bad her campaign and ideas were.
She'll now forever be: "former candidate for President, Kamala Harris". I think she and those like her should forever be: "Losing candidate for the Democrat nomination, Kamala Harris".
This week, the casualty rate among 2020 Dems is higher than the murder rate in Chicago. Bullock and Sestak just dropped out. But hardly anyone knew they were running. The big news is that Senator Kamala Harris, "That girl who slept with Willie Brown to get ahead was me", is dropping out.
Considering how badly her numbers had cratered, that wasn't a surprise.
As I blogged earlier, Harris was polling alongside boutique candidates like Andrew Yang and Julian Castro in the latest HarrisX poll. -- excerpt, rest at link above --
Per Edward-Isaac Dovere, Kamala Harris is no longer running for president. This is excellent, welcome news — the cause for celebration. Good riddance! May Harris’s failed attempt to find higher office destroy her career and sully her reputation for all time.
I’m told that I’m not supposed to feel like this — or, at least, that if I do feel like this, I’m not supposed to say so in public. People worked on that campaign, you see. People tried really hard. But that, I’m afraid, is a load of old nonsense. Harris was running for the presidency, which is another way of saying that she was running to acquire power. I did not want her to have that power. It is true that some people tried their best to help her gain that power. They’re probably upset today. But they’ll get over it. She’s not that special.
On the contrary: She’s a would-be tyrant whose primary contribution to American life thus far has been to fight “tooth and nail to uphold wrongful convictions that had been secured through official misconduct that included evidence tampering, false testimony and the suppression of crucial information by prosecutors”; who has openly promised to act without Congress; and who has shown us exactly who she is during the Kavanaugh hearings, at which she implied that she knew something terrible about the nominee for the sole purpose of sharing the insinuation on her Twitter feed. Harris is a woman who,-- excerpt, rest at link above --
QuoteHarris to supporters: 'I'm not a billionaire. I can't fund my own campaign' The Hill, Dec 3, 2019
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) on Tuesday acknowledged that her presidential campaign no longer had the resources it needed to stay afloat and said that unlike some of the Democratic primary field’s billionaire candidates, she could not afford to self-fund her White House bid.
In a lengthy email to supporters, Harris announced that she was ending her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination amid mounting fundraising and financial challenges.
“I’ve taken stock and looked at this from every angle, and over the last few days have come to one of the hardest decisions of my life,” Harris wrote in the email. "My campaign for president simply doesn’t have the financial resources we need to continue.”
She also appeared to take a shot at the billionaire candidates vying for the Democratic nomination, Tom Steyer and Michael Bloomberg, who have largely self-funded their presidential bids and have consequently outspent the rest of the field in advertising.
“I’m not a billionaire. I can’t fund my own campaign. And as the campaign has gone on, it’s become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete,” Harris wrote. “In good faith, I can’t tell you, my supporters and volunteers, that I have a path forward if I don’t believe I do.”
Yeah, the demonrats are a mess. On one hand there's Warren/Sanders beating the daylights out of billionaires and on the other hand a billionaire will probably be their nominee.
