Two (!) polls find black approval of Trump at 34% American Thinker, Nov 25, 2019, Thomas Lifson
One poll could be an outlier, but when two respected polls find the same outcome, it's time to realize that, most likely, something serious is going on.
Rasmussen, whose own daily tracking poll revealed that 34% of black likely voters support President Trump, was initially cautious about interpreting that result, as this response to a tweet by Dineen Borelli shows:

This rise in black support for a Republican president is shocking but understandable. President Trump has done more for the economic welfare of African-Americans than any Democrat president, with his robust economy and limitations on illegal immigration driving up wages at the lower end of the scale.
It's way too soon to count on black support like this next November, but targeting black voters now has to be a top priority. And for Democrats, this is a wake-up call. Elizabeth Warren and Pete Buttigieg may be leading in early state polls, but neither of them would be particularly attractive candidates in the black community. Mike Bloomberg may have billions to spend, but he will not get 92% support from blacks.
Once this polling sinks in, assuming that it is replicated, it should shake up party elders, if not the base, and provide impetus for Joe Biden's candidacy.
If the convention goes to a second ballot, expect the superdelegates to shun all the candidates who are not strongly attractive to blacks.

QuoteDem Disaster Looms as Trump Goes ‘Bigly’ With Blacks Epoch Times, Nov 25, 2019, Roger L. Simon
While the media remains obsessed with an increasingly pointless impeachment by the House and the even more dubious removal of the president by the Senate, political news of genuine electoral importance has slipped in under the rug. According to two new polls, Trump has now gained popularity with African Americans—and the numbers are significant, even “bigly.”
Both polls—Rasmussen, which usually tilts Republican, and Emerson, which is considered even-handed—came out almost exactly the same, putting Trump’s support among blacks at a surprising, almost astonishing, 34 percent. Typically, Republicans poll in single digits among blacks.
“Game changer” may be one of the great clichés of our our time, but this would actually be one. If even remotely true, Democrats should be having a nervous breakdown. They depend more than ever on African Americans for success in elections. If Trump were to garner even 18 percent of the black vote, he would easily win in 2020. If he had anything close to the 34 percent, it would be a runaway, a disaster for the Democrats.
But is this accurate? Polls are fickle, as we know, and are often distorted by the skewed nature of the questions; but in this case, several factors lead me to believe there is truth to this.
One is of course economic. Due in great part to Trump’s policies, African American unemployment rates are the lowest on record, even for teenagers, and wages are rising, as they haven’t in years. This is likely not being overlooked at the kitchen table.
Almost equally important and working in tandem is the Kanye West factor. Wildly talented and justifiably one of the most popular entertainers in the world, the rapper has made a sensation wearing a MAGA hat while telling an obvious truth: No group, blacks or anybody else, profits by putting all its political eggs in one party’s basket. That group is setting themselves up for exploitation.
African Americans may not want to hear that—it’s painful given their history—but coming from West, they can and do listen, particularly young people. The times, they are a-changin’. Being a Republican, even and possibly especially a Trump supporter, can be cool, if West does it.

Meanwhile, Trump has been doing his part, quietly (for him) going about wooing black voters with his message of economic opportunity at their schools and churches. He’s been having success that’s either been ridiculed or, more often, deliberately ignored by the mainstream media. They are loath to report what he is doing for fear that it might be good. Nevertheless, he is continuing and increasing his efforts going into the campaign.
In the larger political schema, what this is about is a turning away from the “identity politics” (actually a new form of segregation) so beloved by the Democrats and back to the color-blind society envisioned by Martin Luther King Jr. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the idealism of those days was finally realized with the help of Trump or an alliance of Trump and West? Stranger things have happened.
Ana Navarro-Cardenas managed to produce one of the most offensive tweets of the year in response to the news that multiple polls show black job approval of President Donald Trump now at 34%.
She tweeted, "Zero chance this is accurate. Zero. The poll must have only been conducted in the homes of Ben Carson, Kanye, that sheriff guy with the hat and those two Cubic Zirconia & Polyester-Spandex ladies."
You can almost smell the fear oozing from her keystrokes, competing with the hate that was already there. This is so blatantly racist that only a liberal could have spouted it. And, to my knowledge, not a single liberal has called her out on it, choosing to celebrate her instead. She wasn't just mocking the polls, as Newsweek suggests. She was mocking courageous black Americans.
First, she charmingly assumes that black Americans have no right to form their own political opinions and belong to the Democrats, which is an odd position for somebody who plays a "Republican" on CNN.
Second, she insults prominent and accomplished Americans who support the president and intentionally refuses to name three of them, even though surely she could have looked up the names of David Clarke and Diamond and Silk (Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson), in seconds. She chose to marginalize them by focusing on appearance choices that offend her delicate sensibilities instead of engaging their arguments.
In the liberal hive mind where she dwells, they don't deserve their names because they support Trump. Candace Owens doesn't apparently even warrant mention, despite the tremendous work she has done to reveal Democrat racism while encouraging people to walk away from the party.
This really is exceptional. To pry black voters away from the democrat party is quite a feat. Now, the sheer awfulness of the democrats have helped, Trump has given them something to move TO.
