Imagine getting arrested for driving while under the influence and the police do not have to prove you own a car or know how to drive. Then the next thing you know, you are headed for prison for two years without a single shred of proof that you committed a crime.
That is what happened to Roger Stone this week.
He was found guilty of conspiring with Russia on hacked emails when there is not a shred of proof that Russia took the emails. Everyone at WikiLeaks insist the emails didn’t come from Russia.
Stone wanted proof that Russia hacked the DNC emails. Crooked Judge Amy Berman said No, proof is not necessary.
As a result, Roger Stone could spend the rest of his life in prison.
Stone will appeal and hopefully be tried in front of an honest judge.
The DNC refused to allow anyone to examine the computer and CrowdStrike declared that Russia had hacked into the DNC servers. Berman refused to have them turn over their report.
Sounds like he's got a good case for an appeal. He will still have had his name destroyed, his resources taken by lawyers and will undoubtedly spend some undeserved time in jail.
